Official Hiatus Requests
May. 12th, 2011 01:43 pmWith unofficial hiatuses being gone now, and only approved ones being allowed, we thought it'd be easiest to make a post where y'all can come discuss an official hiatus with us, similar to the post where you can tell us you're closing your shop.
Remember, the only way an official hiatus can be taken is if you discuss it with us first. If you need longer than the 3 weeks' inactivity + 1 week warning, you will need to just let us know, we'll talk it over with you and come up with a time frame for you to return by. What this means is that if you only need to be gone for 3 weeks, we aren't going to allow an official hiatus, because you can have 3 weeks before getting warned, and then you'll have 1 additional week on top of that to post by. Also keep in mind that while we aren't judging your reasoning, the reason is being taken into account when deciding your time frame.
So, just fill out the form completely and we'll figure out a hiatus timeline with you. It is encouraged that you discuss it with us at least a few days to a week before you want to take the hiatus, so that there is time to discuss it and figure out your deadline - if you wait until the last minute, we might not be able to grant your hiatus and you'll be at risk for your shop getting closed.

There's not a waiting list or even a full roster of shops right now. As a compromise, I will allow you to take this hiatus until the end of February, but it cannot last indefinitely. I totally understand if finances don't work out for purchasing a new computer, but equally we can't keep extending your hiatus forever. You're only allowed 1 hiatus every two months, per the rules.
Once your hiatus date has passed, you'll have four weeks to post. If you have no activity during that month, you will be placed on the activity sweep and have one week to post. If you still have no activity, you will need to re-apply once you have a new computer. Total, that gives you almost until April to post in the longest possible scenario.
Your hiatus will last until 2/26/2020. Let us know if you have any questions and sorry to hear about your computer issues! ♥
